Professional Fishing Guide & Lodge Keeper

Alan is living the dream. He’s a professional fishing guide in the summer and a hunting guide in the fall. He hasn't always been this lucky, Alan put in his proverbial time. He owned and operated a successful business for 21 years and lived with the stress and insane hours that goes with small business ownership.  Finally, one day he decided enough was enough. That’s where High Plains Outfitting came in. He’d been fishing all his life, and when his family introduced him to Lake Diefenbaker he didn’t look back. He’s never regretted his decision. Alan loves going to work every day and he truly enjoys spending time with his guests and teaching people how to fish. 

Alan also gets to spend a lot of time with his son while running High Plains Outfitting.   Aden shares Alan's passion for fishing and takes every opportunity he gets to be on the lake.  Alan likes to say, “Aden can cook your breakfast, put you on fish, fillet those fish, beat your butt in a game of cribbage, and put you to bed. He has all the skills needed for this job!”  So, chances are when you visit, you’ll get to fish with both Alan and Aden.
